for some reason my media server is not working just right so no one can catch the last video. I am trying to working that out.

last night at wesley one of our stations involved writing haiku. although some of these may not exactly fit the form these are a few of them

shaken terrified
prayed for what seems forever
let me not forget

precious beatiful mind
slowly destroyed so casually
if willing, set free

wind rushing through
from a spirit thats holy
sent for me

harmony, dischord
one complete battles one not
eternal music

cold desperate scared
afraid to make one more mistake
help me dear lord please

pity oh poor me
pity whah whah whah pity
realizing new things. its time

father father you are
forgetful and non-commital I am
thank you for your unceasing pursuit

why have I not come
left uncertain. left your safety
need to run to you

these werre a few things that people shared with God last night.

thanks

vlog.

so it has been crazy. sorry that the content hasn't been updated and or the relevant towards the original idea. Hopefully things have settled down around here and I can actually start doing what we wanted to do in the first place.

I read a quote last night that really struck me. It says more when I put it againist a quote that really really differs. Robert Lewis .
" Nothing is worse than the local church when the local church is done wrong, and nothing is better than the local church when it is done right". This is from his book "The Church of Irresistible Influence".

Now I have read this book and have been a part of a seed church of Fellowship Bible. While some things were great, I felt that there was a mold that I never really fit into. But I came across another quote by Rob Bell.
In it he said that he thought the church was at its best when it was " Underground, subversive, and counter-cultural." (This was taken from the latest issue of Relevant magazine).
I guess it was just two very different thoughts. It certainly kept me up at night.
Thanks for reading. Drop me an email at chadbrooksis@gmail.com

i feel like i am cheating on something because i sit here with meredith in the frothy monkey. she says that she is unable to study at crescent city, i guess i could agree with her.

anyway. we think the in-laws house was fine. they live in galveston basically and were thinking they were going to have nothing left to go to..but they got everything taken care of.

but as i sit here i realize that i have heard the song "november rain" alot lately. and this is something that I am really happy about.

there is a roving film festival kinda like shreveport minicine starting here in ruston maybe next weekend. that could be rad.

so getting ready to go to fall retreat is getting wild. I think we have everything ready, but I am never sure.

This scares me because I have to have it done in like 48 hours.

so the insanity begins

things have settled down alot here in ruston. we find out that alot of the stuff that people have been hearing is just rumors. The school is really keeping tabs on who is staying on campus. I am not quite sure what I think about that. The Red Cross has started to situate thing here around time so that it is alot less hectic.

The thing that people here are looking forward is the permenent stuff here in ruston.

art thing died. we couldn't get paint to stick good to the window so we wiped it down.

media content soon.

well i found out that most of the rumors around town are just that, rumors. its wild to see what happens when rich white people get scared. forget arming the homeless, arm the soccer moms.
things around ruston have gotten hairy. our crime is up a tad with a few "armed robberies" in town. like all small places about half of these havent been confirmed by anyone that knows what they are talking about. People are being really he said she said about stuff. gas has not gotten out of hand yet. I did see a woman filling around 10-12 10 gallon gas containers and then putting them into her hummer. yuppie.

on the other hand me and justin are painting a gigantic piece at wesley over the next few days...so content will be mixed. There should be more media up tommorow. thanks for checking out.
